Content Guard Pro offers two scan modes designed for different needs. Understanding the difference helps you choose the right level of protection for your site.
Quick Scan #
Quick Scan focuses on the most common attack targets.
What It Scans #
- Posts: All published, draft, pending, and scheduled posts
- Pages: All published and draft pages
- Custom Post Types: Public custom post types (e.g., products, portfolios)
Best For #
- Sites with mostly content in posts/pages
- Daily or frequent scanning
- Shared hosting with limited resources
- Quick security checks
Performance #
- Typical completion: 30-60 seconds for ~100 posts
- Lower memory usage
- Minimal database load
Standard Scan #
Standard Scan provides comprehensive protection by scanning additional WordPress data.
What It Scans #
Everything in Quick Scan, plus:
- Post Meta: Custom fields and metadata attached to posts
- Options: Widget content (text widgets, HTML widgets, block widgets)
- Elementor Data: If Elementor is detected, scans

- Sites using page builders

Changing Scan Mode #
For Manual Scans #
1. Go to Content Guard Pro → Scans
2. Select your preferred mode before clicking Start Scan
For Scheduled Scans #
1. Go to Content Guard Pro → Settings
2. Find Default Scan Mode under Scheduling
3. Select Quick or Standard
4. Click Save Changes
Scan Mode and Performance #
Content Guard Pro automatically adjusts based on your hosting environment:
- Batch Processing: Content is scanned in batches (default: 100 items)
- Auto-Throttling: If resource limits are detected, batch size decreases automatically
- Safe Mode: On very large sites (2M+ content rows), Safe Mode activates with smaller batches and longer delays
