Setup Wizard Walkthrough

The Setup Wizard guides you through essential configuration in about 2 minutes. It appears automatically on first activation, but you can also access it later from Content Guard Pro → Settings.

Step 1: Welcome #

The welcome screen introduces Content Guard Pro’s main features:

  • Database scanning for malicious content
  • Detection of hidden links and external scripts
  • SEO spam identification
  • Non-destructive quarantine
  • Security alerts

Click Get Started to continue, or Skip Setup to use default settings.

Step 2: Choose Your Scan Mode #

Select how thoroughly Content Guard Pro scans your site:

Standard Scan (Recommended) #

  • Scans posts, pages, custom fields, and widgets
  • More thorough protection
  • Best for: E-commerce, membership sites, large sites

Real-time Protection #

Enable “Scan content automatically when posts are saved or published” to catch threats immediately. This is recommended for most sites.

Note: You can always manually scan content even if auto-scan is disabled.

Step 3: Configure Alerts #

Set up how you want to be notified about security issues:

Email Alerts #

  • Enable email alerts: Receive notifications for critical findings
  • Email recipients: Add email addresses (one per line)
  • Alert mode:

Immediate: Get an email for each finding
Daily Digest: One summary email per day

Admin Notifications #

Enable “Show admin notices in WordPress dashboard” to see alerts while working in the admin area.

  • Scan frequency:

– Daily (recommended)
– Twice Daily
– Weekly

  • Scan time: Choose when scans run (default: 3:00 AM)

Tip: Schedule scans during low-traffic hours to minimize performance impact.

Step 5: Complete Setup #

Review your configuration and optionally run your first scan:

  • Check the configuration summary
  • Enable “Run a quick scan now” to immediately check for existing threats
  • Click Complete Setup
